Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could be set to make Paris Saint-Germain’s Adrien Rabiot one of his first gs as Manchester United’s permanent manager, according to reports. 2l456
Even though Rabiot is a notoriously difficult character to deal with, he is widely regarded as a very gifted footballer. Still only 23 years of age, the midfielder has quite a way to go in the game and has a bright future ahead of him. However, it is testament to his quality that some of the best clubs in Europe have all been showing an interest in snapping him up once he eventually leaves PSG in the summer.
Despite two months of the season still left to go, it is unlikely that Rabiot will ever play for PSG again. The French giants have attempted to tie him down to a new contract, but the midfielder has been rigid in negotiations and refused to budge on his demands for the extension.
It has become evident that he will not sign on for another season, and he made it clear that he will complete the duration of his contract and leave in the summer for free. As a result, the club have decided to demote him to the reserves for being a ‘rebel’.
Spanish news outlet Sport appear to have the first quotes by Rabiot since he was outcast by the club. He said:
“It’s not that I’m hiding away, I am available to the club. If I could play, I would. I’ve always been a club man.”.
According to reports, there are a number of clubs keen on his signature. The Frenchman initially seemed destined to Barcelona at the end of his spell at the Parc des Princes. However, that move is unlikely to go through, and he now looks set for a move to the Premier League. Amongst the clubs interested in g him are Liverpool, Arsenal and Spurs, with United just ing the mix.

Claims in The Sun, who are notorious for being untrustworthy, state that even though Rabiot will be free, he will still come at a hefty price. The Frenchman is eyeing a wage packet of around £200,000-a-week, and a rather greedy £10 million sign-on fee.
The report suggests United would be willing to pay that fee. The club do have a vast number of midfield players at the moment. However, with Nemanja Matic, Ander Herrera and Juan Mata all hitting their 30’s, the club are preparing for the future. Solskjaer, who is set to be given the managerial job full time, is keen to make his mark in the transfer market. Rabiot, a midfield-link player, could just be what United are looking for.
