There was animosity between the coach and the staff, the coach and the players, and the coach and the fans. The world was against Jose Mourinho, this, after he had taken the club to a second-place finish.
Solskjaer was brought into inject some fresh life into the embattled team that was suffering from a series of poor physical health and bad mental attitude, on and off the pitch.
After what seemed to be a very active transfer window that the club has seen in a long time, Solskjaer was happy with the Pre-season performances of his players. With the likes of Wan-Bissaka, Scott McTominay, Mason Greenwood, Rashford, and Martial ( who recently has been given the No 9 shirt ) all bringing their best foot forward and showcasing an impressive performance on the pitch.
United’s 2019 campaign for the title begins as they host league rivals from London, who are being led by Chelsea Legend and all time pain in the back for Man United, Frank Lampard.
Lampard is going to half a tough climb as half of his squad is injured and United have a completely rested squad with the new club g from Leicester – Harry Maguire ready to inject in some much needed imagination into the United defence.

It will be interesting to see the players that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer gives the nod to start the game, with increased depth for individual positions and new players who have shown their mettle during the pre-season. Solskjaer and Lampard, both legends at their respective clubs now probably face the toughest task of their lives i.e. to manage two great clubs in the form of Manchester United and Chelsea respectively. Both the clubs are facing heavy scrutiny with one club showing not so much ambition in the transfer market while the other facing a transfer ban for the whole season.
With tile contenders and league rivals Manchester City and Liverpool ing top tier results, the fans of the Red Devils are hoping for a similar result from Solskjaer and Manchester United, and if it comes against a rival like Chelsea, it will be that much sweeter.
