The 22-year old Nigerian international ed Arsenal’s youth academy at the ages of 9. He had worked under Arsene Wenger his entire professional club career, and believes that a change of manager will bring out the best in him.

It’s exciting times to be fair. Everybody’s enjoying and buying into the new ideas.

For me personally, I’m enjoying the new sessions, the new training methods and the new ideas, so I’m enjoying my time with him.”

Said the young winger while talking to Football London who scored in the showed that he isn’t afraid to make big changes. Iwobi, however, is very excited to work under the new manager.

Unai Emery, who has won three consecutive Europa league’s with Sevilla is known for his aggressive style of play and this demands a lot from his players and Iwobi feels that this style of play will be beneficial for him for his development.

“A lot of high pressing and keeping the ball so that it benefits us if we have the ball. It’s good for us, especially the attackers who like to have the ball a lot.”

Arsene Wenger had lost the grip of reality in his latter years and was reluctant in changing his tactics which showed in the last season as they finished with worst point tally since he took over. Under Wenger, the whole team seemed tiresome, but since Emery has taken over there has been a kind of excitement not only on the field but also in the dressing room.

Alex Iwobi still has to improve on his es as his completion was only 56% compared to Pedro’s 94%, though he took two shots against the Spaniard’s one and also had two key es.

This however proves that Iwobi is finding better positions and is definitely fitting into Emery’s squad. Iwobi has never been lethal in the air and is certainly the area he needs to improve in, as he didn’t win a single aerial duel and ahead

Iwobi will definitely flourish under Emery, and hopefully will play at his true potential and this is just the beginning for the young Nigerian International.
