The Moroccan international has been one of the best playmakers in Europe for the past couple of years. Ziyech has prove his worth yet again by claiming Ajax s Player of the Year award for the second season running. The prolific midfielder recorded 21 goals and 24 assists over the course of this season across all competitions.
The Moroccan certainly boasts the numbers of a marquee transfer, but his release clause remains at a docile £25 million. With the Gunners’ Mesut Özil replacement in Europe.
However, things were made easier by club director Marc Overmars and the midfielder himself. The former Arsenal talisman announced recently that the 26-year-old is free to make a switch this summer, making the job of pricing him away from the Dutch league just a bit easier.
“He leaves when a top club comes,” said Overmars. “He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League.
“Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim to agree to a good transfer.”
Moreover, recently during a chat with fellow teammate Justin Kluivert on Ajax TV, the Ajax playmaker announced that he is a big fan of the North Londoners and Barcelona.
“Well, I have two clubs,” Ziyech answered when quizzed about which club he dreams to play for. “They are Arsenal and Barcelona. That is my ultimate dream.”
Additionally, he also expressed his iration of Özil, calling the German his idol.
“Yes, I actually do have one, ” the midfield maestro added when asked about his footballing idol. “[Mesut] Özil.”

Unai Emery has a perfect transfer on his plate. A playmaker respected across Europe being available at a healthy age in his prime can only be a good transfer. Adding that to his low release clause value and relations with Overmars, it’s not impossible to pull this transfer off.
However, it is Arsenal we are talking about. We might as well end with another former colleague of Emery like Ever Banega.
