Another day and yet another name is linked to an Arsenal transfer. This time, it’s 20 year old Argentinian midfielder, Ezequiel Palacios. The latest player in a long line of names that stretches from Portugal to Peru, as the press take a punt on who Arsenal could get to fill it’s vacancies and voids. 2h5x1o
However tenuous, Palacios is an exciting talent and before you start hollering about “another 20 year old !” This kid is incredibly exciting and in a world where we’ve become obsessed by people becoming the ‘new’ this and ‘new’ that, it’s not unreasonable to say that Palacios could be the ‘new’ Cesc Fabregas.
Real Madrid were thought to have bid £20m for the River plate star, but the deal fell through for reasons unknown. However, it’s thought that Arsenal could get him for around the same or less.
Ezequiel Palacios came through River Plate’s academy and has been with them from the age of 10. Since, then he has developed his skills and has become a regular member of the first team. He is also included in Argentina’s final 23-man squad for this summer’s Copa America in Brazil.
There are a number of attributes that you need to know about the player and his style. Many are referring to him as a replacement for Aaron Ramsey, but that’s not strictly true.
He may well be seen as a box to box player, like Ramsey and the similarities may also continue in of work rate, but Ezequiel Palacios brings a different type of intensity and is equally assured going forward as he is defending.
When sifting through the various available footage, the first thing you notice is his vision and ability to provide a telling from fairly deep. He then advances to exploit the space and provide a crucial assist.
He has great close control and with the ball at his feet, he will run the length of the pitch, literally dragging his team forward into attack.

Ezequiel Palacios has a range of es, long and short and ticks all the boxes of stamina, ion and desire, as you would expect with a player from South America. Not quite the ‘toys out of the pram’ Maradona type, but he is certainly committed to the cause.
His agent, Renato Corsi, told Radio Continental that his client,
“Is leaving in June” and has “clubs in England and asking about him”.
That’s enough for the press to start fanning the flames of speculation but hopefully, this story is more than it seems.
