When I woke up this morning, it’s become something of a ritual to check the news feeds and immediately after, the Sports feeds. Despite what’s going on in the world, my attention turned to Arsenal and I was particularly angered to learn that Manchester United are preparing a bid for Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang of around £50m excluding add-ons. 254e5x
My immediate reaction was one of irreconcilable rage, my second reaction was disbelief, surely Arsenal would not betray the fans again by selling an asset of his stature to another Premier League club.
It’s Van Persie all over again but with a much better player. Aubameyang has been Europe’s most consistent performer over the 7 years, netting a stunning 141 goals in 213 appearances for Borussia Dortmumd and adding a handsome 61 goals in 96 games for Arsenal.
I’d rather give him away than let him go to United and Arsenal’s board would need certifying if they even consider an offer from a rival for the Premier League and Champions League football.
Selling Aubameyang to Manchester United would make the club candidates for relegation because if you take his goals away, that’s where Arsenal would be. Arteta would have much more work to do and the club would already be in the bottom three trying to scramble their way out of trouble.

It would be a complete sell-out, an embarrassment and an ission that Arsenal’s owner really isn’t interested in the club or the fans. Hell, why don’t we just lock up and turn the freaking lights off!
Aubameyang going to Spain ie Barcelona is preferable to losing him to a struggling and desperate Manchester United in the Premier League. Forget panic buying, if the sale goes ahead, Kroenke can expect even more unrest, not that it bothers him because of his ghost-like presence.
