RB Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano are said to be the top targets for Arsenal in the summer but the gunners will have to dig deep into their sparse pockets to land either. 6s2m3x
Bayern Munich and Barcelona are in the hunt for Upamecano and he will require an opening offer of at least £50m to even begin negotiations. If Arsenal are genuinely interested then the highly rated defender would probably become the most expensive in the club’s history.
The chances are that they will table a bid in the first round, but that they won’t compete with Bayern or Barca should a bidding war commence. It’s also unlikely that there will be a repeat of the extraordinary installment deal that Arsenal somehow managed to get Lille to agree to for Nicolas Pepe.
RB Leipzig are going to want the majority of the money in hard, wonderfully scented cash, complete with a series of lucrative Bolt ons to clinch the deal. Arsenal may even be forced to lower their sights by securing either Swansea’s Joe Rodon (22) or Gabriel Magalhaes (22) of Lille. However, its more likely that they will buy Pablo Mari for around £4m if he es the loan deal audition because Dayot Upamecano is destined to go to a team already in the Champions League.

In of Orkun Kokcu, he could be a steal for around £6.8/£8m but that could jump substantially from his present valuation if another club becomes involved. He is the type of player Arsenal need and if one deal of the two main targets could be done, this is it. The summers is a long way off and there could be a few twists and turns in the transfer market but at least it won’t be as dull as January’s loan fest.
