Arsenal return to Emirates Stadium for their Premier League match against Leicester City this afternoon. The Emirates has been a happy place for the Gunners this season and it is certainly the best time to play against the Foxes. Goals from Emile Smith Rowe and Gabriel Magalhaes allowed Mikel Arteta’s men to claim a 2-0 win at King Power Stadium in October.
Its positive news for the North London side as Arteta provided updates on Emile Smith Rowe, Alexandre Lacazette, and Takehiro Tomiyasu’s current situation. Smith Rowe and Lacazette have been cleared by the medical team to play while Tomiyasu’s situation is being handled carefully. Arteta emphasised that the team is willing to give the Japanese international more time for 100% recovery.
Current Form and Head-to-Head records:
The hosts are in pretty good form at the moment. They enjoyed a 100% win record in February with gutsy win at Watford last weekend. The only slight concern being the margin of victories, all 4 wins are by a single goal margin.
The Foxes are also on a good run. They are on a 4-game winning run across all competitions, two in the UEFA Conference League and back-to-back Premier League wins. Brendan Rodgers’ men will be looking to seek revenge for their home loss in October on away turf.

Goalkeeper:
Aaron Ramsdale (GK): The young shot-stopper has had a great 1st half of the season, but since the start of 2022, he has managed only has 3 clean sheets in all competitions. He must be wary of the strong counter-attacking Leicester team.

Defence:
Cedric (RB): Tomiyasu nursing his injury has allowed Cedric Soares to start in Premier League games. He has performed well as a deputy and needs to prove himself against the physical Midlanders.
Gabriel (CB): The Brazilian scored an early goal against Leicester City at the King Power stadium last time and will be very vital in defence this afternoon. The physically strong opponents need a stronger challenging centre-back from the home team and Gabriel could provide that.
Ben White (CB): Positioning, intercepting es, and moving forward with the ball will be his primary tasks. White shall patrol the defence line as the Foxes are great in pace-attacks.

Kieran Tierney (LB): In a 4-3-3 formation, Tierney can have extra on the wing. His pace might help the Gunners to get an edge in the game. But he needs to be aware of the possible counterattacks and check his runs on a timely basis
Midfield:
Granit Xhaka (CM): The Swiss international possesses great potential and quality. But his recent performances are not at par with the team’s output. He needs to adjust his game against the Foxes and of course, should not concede any needless foul. Arsenal are already looking for a replacement following his performances this season. He has put his team in danger repeatedly by making unwanted fouls.
Thomas Partey (CM): The Ghanaian has been great since the turn of the year. He will be the most important player in the lineup considering the multiple roles he will be needing to play in the game. Thomas needs to be a solid rock in front of the defence, a pace-controller for the Gunners, an initiator for offence, and could also be a surprise goal scorer.
Martin Odegaard (AM): Odegaard playing on the wings provided great success for Arteta. The versatile playmaker is the shining star for the Gunners in the middle and will need to provide the spark in attack.

Attack:
Bukayo Saka (RM): Saka scored against Watford and will be looking to add more to his tally in fixtures. The young Englishman is a great inspiration and a constant threat to the opposition from the right-wing.
Alexandre Lacazette (ST): Lacazette will be looking for a goal against Leicester. He has gone 6 games without scoring and will look to improve his stats. He would want to leave the Emirates on a high.
Emile Smith Rowe (LM): Martineilli’s dip in performances will allow ESR to start the game. The goal scorer in their last meeting and Gunner’s top scorer will be eager to play after the small break.
