The Gunners have been linked to a possible move for the 27 year-old for months now. With their chances of landing Manuel Locatelli from the Italian side Sassuolo looking increasingly unlikely given his interest in staying in Serie A with Juventus, Arsenal are naturally exploring several options including the classy Real Betis midfielder.

Brighton’s Yves Bissouma have been heavily linked until now, and it remains to be seen whether Arsenal are just interested in Guido Rodriguez or are serious enough to match their interest with a concrete offer from their end.
The 26-year-old won the Copa America with Argentina this month and is open to leaving Spain for a new adventure. The North London outfit can provide him an exit route from Spain, where he has impressed many.

Arsenal interest in Guido Rodriguez is said to be directly influenced by technical director Edu’s predilection towards the player who values him highly. Real Betis meanwhile are said to be open to the idea of selling him when his stakes are high because they need to sell before they can make a move in the transfer market.
The Real Betis midfielder reportedly has a £68m release clause but the Spanish outfit are willing to accept an offer in the region of £25m according to Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio.
The defensive midfielder, who came up through the youth ranks of Argentine club River Plate, has made 10 appearances for his national time and has 49 appearances for his current club in the La Liga. Guido Rodriguez made the switch to Europe in January 2020 and has caught the eyes of several clubs including Arsenal in his short stint in the continent.

He has a good range of ing in his pockets and is good at making tackles and interceptions too. He was a regular feature in the Argentine Copa America winning side, making six appearances and four starts.
However, Guido Rodriguez is not the type of player that I feel Arsenal should be targeting at this point. He is already 27 and Arsenal could rather use Yves Bissouma or even Ruben Neves at the Emirates Stadium next season.
Both are Premier League proven and are younger than the Argentine. Moreover it makes really less sense that Arsenal sell a proven and quality midfielder like Xhaka just to replace him with someone like Guido Rodriguez.
