Arsenal will have to splash almost half of their entire transfer budget this summer if they want to sign Kieran Tierney, according to reports. 562t3h
Celtic are willing to sell the 22-year-old, provided the right offer comes in for him. Arsenal have been determined to sign him this summer, and are fighting to stave off the competition for him. The North London club tried their luck with two bids this month, but were swiftly turned down on both occasions.
According to reports in The Telegraph, the bids offered by the Gunners were worth around £15 million, which is £10 million off of Celtic’s valuation.
The Scottish club are holding out for a fee in the range of £25 million, which is quite the bargain for someone of Tierney’s quality. However, while it may seem like peanuts in today’s market, the price tag is quite significant to both clubs in different ways.

To Celtic, £25 million would smash their record of the most amount of money they have ever received from the sale of a player. To Arsenal, a sum of money like that would see half their transfer budget go down the drain.
The Gunners are desperate to bring in reinforcements this summer in order to genuinely challenge for a trophy next season. However, their failure to win the Europa League last season meant they would have to start yet another season in Europe’s second tier competition. It also meant that Unai Emery would not get excess funds as requested, and will be forced to spend from a minuscule budget of £45 million.
Hence, g Tierney would require a lot of commitment and would leave little room to sign another player in such an inflated market. His wages will not be an issue though. The Gunners are set to offer the Scotsman a reasonable pay packet of £70,000-a-week as they try to bring back some stability to their inflated wage bill.
Tierney is one of Celtic’s most prized assets, especially since he is a homegrown player that grew up ing the club as well. He made his debut for the club at the young age of 18, and has gone from strength to strength.

Why Arsenal’s Top Brass Should Communicate With Each Other Before Talking To The Press
He has already amassed around 170 appearances for the Scottish side and became their captain at just 20 years of age. He has also captained the Scotland national team and is no stranger to personal accolades either. The youngster has picked up the Players’ and Writers’ Young Player of the Year award three times in a row.
Manchester United seemed really interested in him a while ago, but continue their pursuit until a deal can be met.
