Arsenal are said to be aware of this and already have a long list of deep-lying midfielders as a backup to Locatelli. This list includes AZ Alkmaar star Ruben Neves of Wolverhampton Wanderers. As reported earlier, Arsenal are ed in their chase for the 24-year-old by Manchester United who are also in the market for a central midfielder. and are currently ahead of the Gunners to complete the g of the Portuguese midfielder.
The London club have been in talks with Wolves regarding the 24-year-old player since last month, with a fee of £35m being quoted for his services. However according to reports (via Metro), Manchester are said to have jumped into the scene, are now seem to be at ‘the head of the queue’ for g Neves. Arsenal, however, are in ‘constant’ touch with his agent, Jorge Mendes.

West Ham’s demands are not surprising, given the 22-year-old midfielder was one of the main reasons behind David Moyes’ side finishing 6th in the concluding season. He was also instrumental in England reaching the finals of the European Championship this summer.
Among other alternatives, Manchester United have also inquired about the young French midfielder Eduardo Camavinga. He has only a year left in his contract with his club, Stade Rennes and is deeply interested in a move elsewhere. However, the 18-year-old midfield prodigy is said to have his eyes on Real Madrid or Bayern Munich and is willing to wait for either of the clubs to put a bid for him, over United.
Arsenal’s interest in Ruben Neves is not that strong at the moment. With Xhaka set to leave, he fits the bill perfectly. If they do decide to pursue Neves, the Gunners have to battle United for his signature.
